Louise Thomas, 80, of Dizney, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at the Harlan App. Reg. Hospital.  Born April 24, 1942 in Dizney, she had lived here most of her life.  Louise was a former housekeeping employee at the Oak Glenn Nursing Home in Illinois.  She was a member of the Brittain's Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing, gardening and working in her flower garden.

Louise is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Thomas; her parents, Dillard Thomas and Vinie Wynn Thomas; a daughter, Eileen Thomas Brock; a sister, Alpha Murray; two brothers, Claude Thomas and Lonnie Thomas; and three great-grandchildren.

Survivors include three children, Retha Thomas and longtime companion, Terry Allen, Alto, GA; Martha Patterson and husband, David, Dizney; Ronnie Thomas and wife, Christy, Ages; and two sisters, Magaline Thomas, Kenvir; and Jean Pridemore, Jonesville, VA.  Also left to mourn are seven grandchildren, Lewonia Defevers, Robert Defevers, Nancy Lamb, Jessica Blake, Jamie Robinson, Alicia Saylor and Crystal Thomas; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Her visitation will be held Sunday from 5 until 8 pm at the Evarts Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Monday, December 19, 2022, in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home with the Reverend Jerry Kirby officiating.

Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens with her family and friends serving as pallbearers.
