Marcus "Mark" Edward Middleton, 57, of Evarts passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital. Born August 13, 1967 in Harlan, he had lived here all of his life. Mark worked in construction doing drywall for many years. He loved being a UT fan and fishing, but the best part of his life was his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Marcus and Angeline Miniard Middleton; a son, Payton Middleton; a brother, Rex Middleton; and a sister, Nora Ledford.

Survivors include his wife, Gail Middleton, Evarts; a son, Markie Middleton and girlfriend, Destiny Hamm, Evarts; a brother, Bobby Middleton and wife, Josephine, Loyall; two grandchildren, Bentley and Olivia Middleton; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Charlene Middleton, Evarts; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday from 5 until 8 pm at the Evarts Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 12 noon in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home with Brother James Forester officiating.

Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
