Margaret Ann Shepherd, 78, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the Harlan Health and Rehabilitation Center, after a long illness. She was born December 13, 1946, in Long Island, NY, to the late Bland and Margaret Kelly Ballard.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Luther Shepherd; a brother, BJ Ballard; and a sister, Terry Linnaman.

She leaves to mourn her passing her three children, Teresa Turner and husband, Carlos, of Totz; Bryon Sergent and wife, Renee, of Texas; Charles Sergent and wife, Holly, of North Carolina; two step-children, Jennifer Newbury and husband, Steve, of South Carolina; Tim Shepherd and wife, Olga, of Corbin; a sister, Victoria Simmons of Arizona; one grandson, Connor Turner; eight step-grandchildren, Jordan, Brianna, Tiffany, Jackson, Emily, Linda Grace, Julia, and Joshua; three great-grandchildren, Sarah, Nolan and Harlo.

The family would like to extend a special thankyou to the Harlan Health and Rehabilitation for their outpouring of love and care that they   showed to Margaret. Also, a special thank you to her friend and caretaker, Linda Cress.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from 11 AM to 1 PM in the chapel of Tri City Funeral Home. Her funeral service will follow with the Reverend Roger Colinger officiating.
