Margie Fay Cornett, 77, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born November 28, 1945 to the late Milborn and Vada Eldridge Cornett. Margie was a homemaker and believed in the Church of God faith.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Lola Partin; and a granddaughter, Christine Cornett.

Margie leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 59 years, Vercel Cornett; two sons, William Cornett and wife, Amy; and Daniel Cornett and companion, Alicia Saylor; a brother, James Cornett; three sisters, Belinda Cornett Goins; Diana Cornett Hoobler; and Angel Cornett; two granddaughters, Samantha Cleaver and husband, Jimmy; and Emily Cornett; three great-grandchildren, Bradley Cleaver; Megan Cleaver; and Chase Richmond; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 to 8 PM at Tri City Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be conducted Friday, January 13, 2023, at 12 noon with Brother Glen Cornett officiating.

Interment will follow at the Cornett Family Cemetery in Gordon with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
