Martha Jean Perkins Napier, 67, of Baxter, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 1, 1959 in Baltimore, Maryland. Martha was a cake decorator in the Food City Bakery department for several years. She enjoyed playing bingo, playing slot machines and going to the lake. Martha believed in the Baptist faith.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ricky Lynn Napier; her parents, Byrd Perkins and Eurada McMillion Perkins; and a brother, Verlin "Jake" Perkins.

Survivors include three children, Melissa Perkins, Baxter; Ricky Napier Jr. and wife, Krystal, Pathfork; and Tabitha Hensley and husband, David, Loyall; two sisters, Sandra Bryant; and Teresa Barnett and husband, Gerald; and three brothers, Bob Perkins and wife, Pam; Ted Perkins and wife, Jeanie; and Bill Perkins. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Destiny Scearse and husband, David, Baxter; Dillan Napier and wife, Savanna, Ages; Victoria Whitehead, Baxter; Trey Hensley and wife, Madison, Gulston; Zack Hensley, Loyall; Clarissa Eldridge, Rose Hill, VA; Gavin Napier and wife, Kayle, Bobs Creek; and Cayden Hensley, Gulston; nine great-grandchildren, Maddox Scearse, Aubree, Gannon, Easton, Paisleigh and Tinleigh Whitehead, Kyllan, Lincoln and Leland Napier; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 12 noon until 2 pm in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2 pm with Pastor Rodney Freeman officiating.

Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
