Dr. Mary Katherine Bennett, aged 82, of Linefork, Kentucky, peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. She was born on July 12, 1942, in Lynch, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Joseph Lawrence and Ida Halcomb Coots.

Mary served as the pastor of Linefork Foursquare Gospel Church. She was a Kentucky Colonel, philanthropist, author, soldier, mentor, comforter, but above all, a devoted mother. Her infectious laughter delighted all who knew her, and she enjoyed entertaining others with her stories and jokes. Mary inspired and blessed all who crossed her path.

The Lord called, and Mary answered with unwavering commitment to changing lives, breaking generational curses, and sharing the love of Christ. She fed the hungry, clothed the needy, and loved the unloved, freely giving all she had without expecting anything in return. If Mary could leave you with one last piece of wisdom, it would be, "You can make a big difference with one small act of kindness."

Mary was preceded in death by her sons, Andre' and Paul, and by eight brothers and five sisters. She is survived by her sisters, Delois Middlebrooks and Mabeline Sizemore; her daughters Mary Louise, Miranda, Andrea, Carmel, Sharon, Theresa, Joanna, and Elizabeth; and her sons Big Chris, Little Chris, Joey, Howard, Calvin, Justin, BJ, Jonathon, and Aiden. Also mourning her passing are numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 10 am until 12 pm at Linefork Foursquare Gospel Church, 18754 Hwy. 160, Linefork, KY 41833. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm at the church, officiated by Pastors Durant Kreider and John Coleman. Burial will take place in the Bennett Family Cemetery at Linefork.
