Obituary

Mary Nolan Irvin, 81, of Somerset, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, June 21, 2024, at the Somerwoods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Somerset. She was born on January 11, 1943, to the late Ted Nolan and Nancy Brock Nolan. Mary worked as an LPN at the Harlan Nursing Home for many years. Her dedication to nursing and love for others will be remembered always. She loved animals and there was never a hungry bird, squirrel, dog, cat, racoon, or any critter she did not care for. She was a Christian, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Mary's kindness, warmth, and love touched the lives of many, and her memory will continue to shine bright. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of her family and friends and all who knew her.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her son, Michael Asher, and her husband, Clarence Irvin. Although they are no longer with us, their memory and love will forever remain in our hearts.

Mary leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, that include two daughters, Tammy Asher Frazier and husband, Shade Frazier III, Somerset, KY; and Angela Asher Decker and husband, Mike Fuchs, Brandenburg, KY; and four sisters, Elaine Nolan, Louisville, KY; Jane Ely, Versailles, KY; Ethel Hannah, Abington, VA; and Pat Nolan, Dallas Texas. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Christopher Asher, Asher, KY; Shelbi Frazier Peace and Kent Peace, Louisville, KY; Corey Davidson and Morgan Jones, Hyden, KY; Laura Asher Nolan and Dylan Nolan, Pineville, KY; Chase Decker, Brandenburg, KY; Canon Decker, Brandenburg, KY; and Elia Frazier, Somerset, KY. Mary's love and guidance will forever be remembered and her spirit carried on by each of them.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Somerwoods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Hospice for their exceptional care and support. Their dedication and compassion brought comfort to Mary and her family during her final days.

Visitation will be from Monday, June 24, 2024, from 1 until 2:30 p.m. at the Loyall Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the Loyall Funeral Home with Mike Fuchs officiating.
