Mary Lou Smith, 58, of Monticello, KY passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born in Richmond, KY on November 22, 1967 to Gene and Beulah Curry Goode. She was a member of the Union City Christian Church. Mary Lou was a homemaker who loved baking, cooking big meals, and canning vegetables. She was kindhearted and had a good sense of humor.

She is preceded in death by her father, Gene Goode; a brother, Lewis Edward Goode; aunt, Marie Tolin and husband, Ronnie; an uncle, Lewis Curry and wife, Eva; her grandmother, Margaret Lou Curry; and mother-in-law, Isabella Smith.

She leaves to mourn her passing her mother, Beulah Curry Goode of Richmond; her husband of 34 years, Jerry Smith of Monticello, KY; a half-brother, Billy Gene Dodd and wife, Tina. of Lancaster, KY; a sister-in-law, Patty Goode of Richmond; three aunts, Anna Sandlin and husband, Leon, of Richmond, KY; Sue Riner and husband, Porter, of Virginia; Sherry Bryant of Mt. Olivet, KY; two nieces, Emily Ney and Olivia Goode of Richmond;  a nephew, Walker Goode of Richmond, KY; a great-niece, Skylar Goode of Richmond; a great-nephew, B'jorn Ney of Richmond; and a host of cousins, other family and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, May 22, 2026, at the Tri City Funeral Home from 1 pm until 3 pm. Her funeral service will be at 3 pm with the Reverend Billy Boggs officiating. Interment will follow at the Peaceful Acres Cemetery at Hiram with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
