Mary Ruth Pridemore Napier, 71, of Evarts, departed this life on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at her home, with her family by her side. Born June 10, 1954 in Harlan County, she had lived here all of her life. Mary had worked as Director of Child Care at Harlan CAA for over 10 years and a member of the North Evarts Baptist Church. She loved being a mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending her time shopping.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Joe Pridemore and Patsy Dardy Pridemore; a son, Justin Napier and wife, Kara Jo Smith Napier; and one great-grandchild, Blake Caudill.

Survivors include her husband, David Napier, of Evarts; a son, Jody Napier and wife, Sissy, of New Tazewell, TN; five grandchildren, Kirsten Caudill and husband, Lake, Rylee Napier, Dylan Napier, Dawson Napier and Alex Noe; and one great-grandchild, Mason Napier.

Her visitation will be held Monday, February 23, 2026, at the North Evarts Baptist Church beginning at 2 pm with a memorial service to follow at 3 pm.  The Reverend Lloyd Ray Burkhart will officiate.
