Mavis Browning, age 62, of Rogersville, TN, and a former resident of Cumberland, KY, passed away on August 28th, 2023, at her home with her son by her side. She was born in Harlan, KY, on July 5th, 1961, to the late Willie and Mallie (Bruner) Sizemore. Mavis was a hard worker and homemaker who was always there for the people in her life. She was a member of the Guntown Church of Christ in Rogersville, TN.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Browning; son, William Alex Browning; and two brothers: James (Bozo) Sizemore and Willie Edward Sizemore.

Mavis was a loving mother and mamaw survived by her son, Billy Brandon Browning, and three grandchildren: Ethan Browning, Jacob Browning, and Madison Browning. She is also survived by six siblings: Flora (Larry) Jenkins of Sevier County, TN; David (Judy) Sizemore of TN; Bobby Sizemore of Cumberland, KY; Carolyn (Ronnie) Johnson of Greene County, TN; Linda Sizemore of Greene County, TN; and Tammy Deal of TN, along with a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 2, 2023, from 9 to 10 am at Christian-Sells Funeral Home, 1520 E Main St, Rogersville, TN. Funeral services will  follow at 10 am with  Marshall Stubblefield and Fred Curtis officiating. Interment will follow the funeral services at the Monte Vista Cemetery in Cumberland, KY.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Browning, Lee Lewis, Kaleb Lester, Rob McArthur, Ronnie Johnson, and Travis Roach. Online condolences may be sent at www.christiansells.com .
