Michael Lynn Gross, 60, of Baxter passed away Friday, December 9, 2022, at the Harlan App. Reg. Hospital. He was born on December 9, 1962 in Harlan County. He worked as a manager for security for Patriot Fuels Coal Company and believed in the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, the Reverend James Valentine Gross and Jessie Maxine Maggard Gross; one son, Zackery Keith; and one sister, Betty Stevens.

Michael is survived by his wife of 19 years, Georgetta Hensley Gross, Baxter; six children, Michaela Keith, Angela Gross, Cassandra Gross, Shanda Day, Eddie Hensley, and Anna Saylor, all of Harlan; four brothers, Reverend Edmond Gross and wife, Robin, Wallins; Charles Gross and wife, Ora Jean, Cawood; Bill Gross and wife, Darlene, Beaver Dam, KY; and Frank Gross, Smith; and one sister, Debra Smith and husband, Reverend Don Smith, Loyall. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Braison Fox, Addilyn Keith, Treyton Keith, Arianna Keith, Sawyer Keith and Laken Keith.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2022, in the chapel of the Harlan Funeral Home with funeral services starting at 1 p.m. with the Reverend Bobby Smith officiating.

Burial will be in the Lower Sang Branch Cemetery, Wallins with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
