Mitchell Allen Fairchild, 59, of Loyall, formerly of Lejunior, departed this life on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at his home.  Born March 23, 1966, he was a lifelong resident of Harlan County.  Allen was a former coal miner and had attended the Coxton Faith Tabernacle since he was a young boy. He loved working on vehicles and playing with his grandson, Jaxon.  Allen was an avid UK fan and enjoyed watching them play on television.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Reba Lindsay Fairchild and Mitchell Fairchild; and a sister, Debra Fairchild Peace.

Allen is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years and companion of over 34 years, Helen McQueen Fairchild, Loyall; three children, Joshua Mullins and wife, Tara, Berea; Shila Short and companion, Char, Greenville, TN; Tiffany Dillman and husband, Alan, Smith, KY; a sister, Melissa Fairchild Middleton and husband, Mike, Totz; and a brother, Donnie Bennett and wife, Wilma, Totz.  Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Kira, Bryce, Isaiah, Jasper, Bay, Jaxon and Jayla; and a host of other family and friends.

His visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 until 8 pm at the Evarts Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 2 pm in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home with the Reverend Perry Long and Stan Nicely, Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens with his family and friends serving as pallbearers.
