Monroe Mitchell Ealy, 89, of Pathfork, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the Harlan Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on August 27, 1934 in Pathfork. Monroe was a factory worker and night watchman. He believed in the Baptist faith.

Monroe is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Helen Barnes Ealy; his parents, John and Ethel Howard Ealy; three brothers, Harold, Robert, and Chester Ealy; and five sisters, Reva Daniels, Anna Mae Daniels, Pearl Daniels, Faye Morse, and Devanna Barham.

Left to cherish his memory are his five children, Terry Ealy (Pam) and Tammy Vance (Donnie), all of Pathfork; Kathy Smith (John) of Wallins; and John Ealy (Michelle) and Linda Cox (Jerry), all of Hulen. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Amy Brown, Leah Brown, Jonathan Smith, Shane Smith, Kayla Smith Delph, Tyler Ealy, Jared Ealy, Sarah Cox Saylor, Jerry Cox, and Richard Ealy; 11 great-grandchildren, Alex Honeycutt, Kelsey Gray, Matthew Gray, Hayden Cox, Hunter Smith, Callie Smith, River Smith, Braylin Brock, Natalie Delph, Noah Delph, and Jace Cox, and one on-the-way, Maia Mary-June.

Visitation for Monroe will be on Friday, January 26, 2024, at the Blackstar Pentecostal Church beginning at 1:00 pm and funeral services starting at 3:00 pm with the Reverend David Howard officiating.

Burial will be in the Saylor Cemetery at Pathfork with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
