Noreen Betty Caldwell Madden, 66, of Evarts departed this life on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness. Born January 9, 1960 in Harlan, to the late Estel and Mary Belle Bailey Caldwell, she had grown up in Chicago, IL. Noreen was a homemaker and believed in the Christian faith.

In addition to her parents, Noreen is preceded in death by the love of her life, Johnny Madden; two brothers, Franklin David Caldwell and Robert Lee Caldwell; and a sister, Diana Sue Caldwell Riddle.

Survivors include two sons, Isaac Madden and Brandon Madden, both of Evarts; two brothers, Howard Anthony Caldwell, Missouri; and James Edward Caldwell, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Hailey Cornett, Ariel Madden, Isaac Madden II, and Charlie Madden; three great-grandchildren, Grayson Cornett, Sadie Belle Cornett and Honey Lynn Tiddell; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

A graveside service will be held in the Evarts Memorial Gardens on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 1 pm with Pastor John Luttrell officiating.
