Paul Maggard, age 89, of Partridge, Kentucky, departed this life on August 27, 2024 at his home with his family at his side following a long illness. Paul believed in the Old Regular Baptist faith and was a member of the McRoberts Old Regular Baptist Church of the Indian Bottom Association. He was born on March 2, 1935 in Partridge, Kentucky to the union of the late France Maggard and Maggie Ison Maggard. Paul retired from coal mining after working 35 years at Scotia mine.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting, working in the garden, and tending to his goats.

He is preceded in death by his parents France and Maggie Maggard, one brother Herbert Maggard, and one sister Geneva Pool.

Left to mourn his passing, his wife of 68 years Mary Johnson Maggard, two children Paul (Dessa) Maggard of Partridge, KY, and Mary Ann Trail (Robert) of Calhoun, Georgia; four grandchildren Mary Beth Craig (Walter) of Partidge, KY, Dessa Cassandra Raleigh of Partridge, KY, Robert William Trail (Jessica) of Calhoun, GA, and Paul Daniel Trail (Samantha) of Suwannee, GA; six great-grandchildren, Ethan, Halle, Hannah, Trey, Aiden, and Nate.   Also, surviving Paul are two brothers, James Hargus Maggard (Jenny) and David Maggard (Frankie) both of Partridge, KY.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 29th, 2024, in the chapel of Tri City Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 30th, 2024, at the Maggard Church with Elder Randall Branham and Elder Jim Fields officiating.  Burial will follow at the family's cemetery on Collier's Creek.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
