Ralph Morgan, Jr., 49 of Evarts departed this life suddenly on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital. He was born February 4, 1975, in Harlan County to the late Ralph Morgan, Sr., and Rosemary and Judge Phillip Hamm, of Baxter. He was a coal miner before becoming disabled and was an avid U.K. and Cincinnati Reds fan.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Luther and Katherine Small; Henry and Ora Morgan; and Alvin and Inez Hamm; aunts and uncles, Priscilla Johnson; Margaret and Ronnie Lee; Virginia Morgan Ralston, Donnie Morgan and Sam Small; and cousins, Kevin Howard and Tammy King.

Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Nicole Skeene Morgan (and children Madea, Cadence and Aaron), Evarts; children, Jacob (Bryonna) Morgan, Lexington; Anthony (Selena) Morgan, Lexington; Thomas (Kirsten) Morgan, Lexington; and Emily (Lucas) Boggs, Sharps Chapel; his parents, Phillip and Rosemary Hamm, Baxter; five siblings, Alvin Hamm of Lexington; Chris Morgan of Baxter; Phillip Hamm, Jr., North Carolina; Tiffany Hamm Rowe and husband, Chris, Baxter; and Alex Hamm of Baxter; and grandchildren, Maddie, Ella, Ollie, Noah and Zane. Also surviving are his aunt, Wanda Howard; cousins, Kim Lee Fitch, Jeff Rutherford, Bobby Rutherford, Kara Overbee, Bill Howard, Travis Howard, Felicia Johnson, Johnny Johnson, Renae Johnson and Brittany Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 12 until 2 pm at the Harlan Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 2 pm in the Chapel of the Harlan Funeral Home with the Reverend Terry Turner officiating.

Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY with Chris Rowe, Jordan Turbyfill, Jacob Morgan, Anthony Morgan, Thomas Morgan and Micahel Taulbee serving as pallbearers.
