Obituary

Rebecca Ann Arvin Helton, 82, of Wallins, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 24, 2024, at the Harlan App. Reg. Hospital with her family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on July 14, 1941 in Cawood, KY to the late Arlington Cecil Arvin and Maggie Marie Lundy Arvin.

She married the love of her life, Sid Helton, on Halloween, October 31, 1959 and moved to Ohio. They had three children. She had worked for the Northridge School System as a playground supervisor. She later worked at the Carter Law Office and Image Photography. She was co-owner/operator, alongside her husband, of Sid's Mobile Home Park for the last 46 years.

Sissy, as many called her, was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Most importantly, she was a born-again Christian and was a longtime member of the Loyall Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Sid Helton; her son, Sidney Albert Helton; her grandson, Patrick Howard; and one sister, Judy Fee.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Joanna Amburgey, and husband Rick; Janet Howard, and husband Buddy; and daughter-in-law, Faith Helton.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Michelle Gross, and husband Mike; Jered Howard; Melissa Napier, and husband Justin; Stephanie Hardin, and husband John; Hannah, Rachel and Emily Amburgey; eight great-grandchildren, Hunter, Alex, and Aiden Napier; Tristian and Alyssa Helton; Nathan and Gunner Hardin; and Micah Gross; one sister, Janice Tolliver, and husband Tony; five brothers, Kermit Arvin, Doug Arvin and wife, Pauline; David Arvin; Bill Arvin and wife, Becky; Johnny Arvin and wife Barb; as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2024, in the chapel of the Harlan Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Chris Wheeler officiating. Music will be provided by Doug Herren.
