Richard Randall
Bowling
Mar 3, 1951 — Jul 17, 2026
Partridge
Richard Randall Bowling, aged 75 of Partridge, was called home to Heaven on July 17, 2026 at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Born on March 3, 1951, to the late Oscar and Irene Bowling and was a graduate of Whitesburg High School.
In 1976, Randall founded Main Street Chevron, turning a dream into a business that would become a cornerstone of the community. For more than three decades, Main Street Chevron was more than a service station, it was a place where neighbors gathered, friendships were built, and customers were always greeted with honesty, respect, and a smile. He believed in hard work, fair treatment, and helping others whenever he could. Through his unwavering dedication, he earned the trust and admiration of countless families, leaving a legacy not only as a successful small business owner but as a man who truly served his community with integrity and kindness.
Randall was one of the Cumberland Lady Skins most faithful fans. Affectionately known as "Pork Chop" by the players, he never missed a game and could always be found in his familiar seat in the top row of the gym. His deep, unmistakable voice became a tradition of its own, booming out a passionate "D!" that echoed through the gym and energized everyone in attendance. His unwavering support, enthusiasm, and love for the Lady Skins left a lasting impression that will be remembered for years to come. His love of sports was matched only by his devotion to his family. From Little League through high school, he was a constant presence at each of his grandson's baseball games, cheering from the stands with the same pride, encouragement, and unwavering support that defined the way he lived his life.
Randall loved fishing on Lake Norris, sightseeing with his wife Brenda, tinkering in his workshop, and reading to his great-grandchildren. He impacted many lives over the years in the community itself, through his support of youth sports, and simply by lending a hand whenever someone needed help. Yet, his greatest legacy is his love and devotion to family, which will endure within the hearts and souls of the generations he leaves behind.
Randall's remarkable life and spirit will be forever cherished and carried forward by his devoted wife, Brenda, bonus daughters Tracy (Bob) Rutherford and Tonia Henry, grandchildren Blayne (Morgan) Rutherford, Blake (Kelli Jo) Rutherford, Brendan (Hannah) Rutherford, Aaron (Megan) Henry, Amber (David) Gross, Connor Byrne, Jordan Byrne, Amanda Orick, and great-grandchildren Cece, Cy, Emmy and Hudson Rutherford, Tanner, Liam and Oliver Chappel and Donovan, and Tinley, Peyton and Addie Henry that he was blessed to have call him "Dad" and "Papaw." He also leaves behind a loving little sister, Joanne (Hal) Dinsmore, and nephews Scott (April) Dinsmore and Nathan (Audriana) Dinsmore, sisters-in-law Wonda Lawson, and Melissa (Mike) Byrne, brothers-in-law Junior Halcomb, and Larry Halcomb, and niece Tammy (Jon Morgan) Orick, Aunt Evalle Bowling
He also leaves behind a large and loving Bowling family, made up of countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended relatives, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
Randall is preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Irene Bowling, an infant brother, Ronald Bowling, brothers-in-law Cecil Halcomb and Lloyd Lawson, and a sister-in-law Phyllis Halcomb.
A celebration of Randall's life will be held on Saturday July 25, 2026, from 1-3pm in the chapel of Tri-City Funeral Home with his funeral beginning at 3pm. The Reverend Glenn Cornett and Reverend Rod Raleigh will officiate.
