Rick Osborne, 68, of Wallins, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 4, 2025, at the U.K. Hospital in Lexington. He was born on February 17, 1957 in Madison, IN to the late Charles Osborne and Lillian Scott Osborne. Rick was a retired coal miner having worked 27 years at various coal mines and believed in the Pentecostal faith.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Virginia and Arthur Cottrell; one sister, Mary Hodges; and two nephews, Cole Curly and William Wayne.

Rick is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 47 years, Rosetta Cottrell Osborne, Wallins; three children, Heather Hensley and husband, David, Wallins; Jennifer Shepherd and husband, Charlie, Forrester Creek; and Ricky Osborne and wife, Danielle, London; and two sisters, Michelle Curley, Illinois and Vanessa Childress and husband, Danny, Louisville, KY.

Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Gage Shepherd, Charli Reece Shepherd, Cameron Shepherd, Preslee Hensley, Parker Osborne, Olivia Osborne, Payton (Corey) Cobb, Dylon Smith and fiancé Tiffany Baldwin, Mary Kate (Sam) McGoon-Moore, Charles Kendal (Brittney) Shepherd; and Logan (Bailey) Shepherd; eight great-grandchildren, Emory and Knox Cobb; Brylan, McKinlee and Lillian Smith; Rosa and Charlie Dean; and Scarlett Shepherd; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other family and friends.

The family would like the thank his Pulmonary nurses, Cynthia Daniels and Kaysi Morris and his Infusion nurses, Erica Couch, Etta Woodard and Lisa Cozart.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2025, at the Kentenia Full Gospel Church in Wallins with funeral services starting at 7 p.m. with Pastor Jim Johnson, Pastor Doug Lawson and Eric Slusher officiating.

Graveside services will be at 1 P.M. Friday in the Park Howard Cemetery at Wallins with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
