Ricky Dale Perkins, 58, of Coxton departed this life on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Tri Cities Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness.  Born December 29, 1966, he had lived here all of his life. Ricky was a carpenter and a veteran of the US Army National Guard. He believed in the Pentecostal faith.

He is preceded in death by his father, Chester Perkins; two brothers, Bruce Perkins and Frank "Babers" Perkins; and two brothers-in-law, Danny Joe Holbrook and Nick McQueen; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerry and Nannie Rainey.

Survivors include his mother, Vivian "Betty" Nolan Perkins, Coxton; his children, Brandon Perkins and wife, Ketera, Kingsport, TN; Dustin Perkins and wife, Kayla, Bledsoe; and Miranda Perkins and husband, Justin Absher, Ages; the mother of his children, Tab Perkins; three sisters, Joann Greer and husband, the Reverend Kelles Greer; Carol "Sis" Holbrook; Lavonda Pennington and husband, Tim, all of Coxton; three brothers, Terry Perkins and wife, Marie; Clarence Perkins and wife, Kathy, all of Coxton; Keith Perkins and wife, Wanda, Verda; and a special sister-in-law, Alice Perkins; six grandchildren, Aly Perkins, Tanner Perkins, Tucker Absher, Casen Perkins, Grayson Absher and Ari Perkins; a host of nieces and nephews, other family and friends also survive.

His visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 until 8 pm at the Evarts Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 2 pm in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home with the Reverend Doug Napier and the Reverend Kelles Greer officiating.

Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens with Brandon Perkins, Dustin Perkins, Justin Absher, Kenny Rigney, Shawn Brock and Johnny Middleton serving as pallbearers. Military rites will be performed by the Harlan Honor Guard.
