Rondal "Rooster" Hatfield, age 68 of Cumberland, passed away Friday, June 30, 2023 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard, KY. He was born February 20, 1955 to the late Fred and Aislee Rigney Hatfield. Rooster was a retired coal miner. He was liked by everyone who knew him and he never met a stranger.  There was never a dull moment when he was around, people would say that his hair matched his nickname.

Rooster is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Aislee Rigney Hatfield; his children, Rhonda and Lee Hatfield; a brother, Danny Fred Hatfield; and a sister-in-law, Vickie Hatfield.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Wanda Hatfield; his brothers, Bruce (Wynona) Hatfield, of Cumberland; Brian Hatfield, of Cumberland; Jimmy (Teresa) Hatfield, of Cumberland; a sister, Carole (Jim) Fannin, of Inez; a sister-in-law, Jean Hatfield,  of Cumberland; grandchildren, Claudia Hatfield (Adam Abraham), of Cumberland; Katlin Cook and Kaylee Cook, of Memphis, TN; great grandson, Kaiden Cook; an unborn great grandson that will be named, Hagen Lee Abraham, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

In keeping with Rooster's wishes, he will be cremated and then buried with his parents at Jacob Creech Cemetery.
