Ruth Ann "Botchy" Perkins, 69, of Holmes Mill, departed this life on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard. Born March 19, 1957 in Harlan County, she had lived here all of her life. Botchy was a homemaker and believed in the Baptist faith. She enjoyed watching airplanes, the Hallmark Channel and being at home with her family.

She is preceded in death by her son, Jeremy Perkins; and her parents, Madge Caudill Brock and Gene Brock.

Survivors include her husband Arthur "Joe" Perkins; her daughter, Tracy Perkins; and her daughter-in-law, Desi Perkins, and her mother-in-law, Debbie "Bobbie" Perry, all of Holmes Mill; a brother, Glen Brock and wife, Betty, Appalachia, VA; four sisters, Nancy Stanton and husband, Robert, Holmes Mill; Nannie Huff and husband, Arlis, Holmes Mill; Shirley Madsion and husband, Terry, Wallins; and Norma Price and husband, Bill, Lexington; and host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 until 8 pm at the Evarts Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted in the chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 11 am with the Reverend Chris Peace officiating.

Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
