Sheila Gilbert Ball, 74, of Evarts departed this life on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the TriState Health and Rehab Center in Harrogate, TN.  Born July 19, 1950, in Harlan County, she had lived here most of her life.  Sheila had worked many years as a child care provider.  She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Polly Hubbard Gilbert and Morgan Gilbert; a grandson, Leslie Cox; her former husband, Danny L. Ball, Sr.; and a brother, Jesse Hubbard.

Survivors include two children, Paula Cox of Evarts; Danny L. Ball, Jr. and wife, Starla, of New Tazewell, TN; three sisters, Patricia Boggs and husband, Dennie, Knoxville, TN; Rita Mumford of Knoxville, TN; Joyce Hubbs and husband, Tommy, Dayton, OH; and a brother, Dallas Gilbert of Evarts.  Also surviving are five grandchildren, Kellie Ray, Jake Ball, Kaylee Ball, Danny Ball III, and Scotty Cox; nine great-grandchildren, Asher and Ella Cox; Abby, Steve and Jax Ray; Eli and Rayven Ball; Sapphira and Cora Andrews; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Evarts Funeral Home on Sunday, December 29, 2024, beginning at 6 pm with her funeral service at 7 pm.  Pastor Danny McCreary will officiate.
