Sherry Robbins
Diaz
Nov 4, 1956 — Feb 17, 2024
Highsplint
Sherry Lynn Robbins Diaz, 67, of Highsplint departed this life on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at the Harlan Health and Rehab Center in Harlan. Born November 4, 1956 in Harlan County, she had lived here most of her life. Sherry was a former cook at the Dairy Hut in Evarts. After that she worked for many years as a sales clerk at Evarts Wholesale. After it closed she worked at the Hope Center and the jail. She loved to cook, especially baking cakes and cupcakes for birthdays and holidays, and enjoyed crocheting.
At a young age, she became the heart of the family. Holidays, gatherings, and any special occasion were held at her home. She loved every minute of it. She was a very giving woman and loved to help others. In addition to her three children, she raised four of her nieces and a nephew as her own and was happy to do it (Jason, Amanda, Melissa and Sissy). She was a jack of all trades and as a single mother, she learned to do what needed to be done. She was a hard worker and never complained a day in her life. She lived for her children, but her grandchildren hung the moon. She loved and cherished them more than they will ever know. Her contagious smile lit up every room she entered, even through her sickness. She lived a happy and fulfilled life, and that is something that many are not fortunate enough to be blessed with.
Sherry is preceded in death by her parents, Cletus Robbins and Retha Dixon Robbins; two sisters, Cleda Ann Robbins and Sharon Kaye Robbins; a brother, Gus Dale Robbins; a brother-in-law, Frank Allen; a niece, Retha Robbins; and a nephew, Jason Juarez.
Survivors include three children, Freddie Diaz and wife, Michelle, London; Christy Faulkner and husband, Bryan, Harlan; Margaret Diaz, London; two sisters, Gayle Allen, Ages; Jennifer Robbins, Highsplint; a brother, Cletus Robbins, Jr., Highsplint; a special niece, Melissa Robbins, Richmond; and a niece, Amanda Juarez. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, Hudson, Christian and Breanna Faulkner; Ross and Gracie Diaz; Lizzie and Jillian Colley; Zevlin, Zori, Jordana, Lili and Lydia Diaz; Kendra Robbins and Shantel Harris.
Her visitation will be held Monday, February 19, 2024, at the Evarts Funeral Home beginning at 5 pm with a memorial service to follow at 7 pm. Pastor Bo Lee will officiate with music by Sierra Crow.
