Shirley Ann Day, 79 of Dione, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. The second of twelve children, Shirley was born in Dayton, Ohio, on April 10, 1946, to the late Tom and Virginia Poffenberger Emmons. She was a homemaker and believed in the Southern Baptist faith. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to cook, especially big meals for her family.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Day; a daughter, Terri Holly; and two brothers, Tommy and LeRoy Emmons.

She leaves to mourn her passing her children: Joann Napier (Terry Blevins) and Tommy Day; two grandchildren: Brittany M. Napier and Dustin L. Napier (Lauren); two great-grandchildren: Jackson and Braelynn Grace Smith; nine siblings: Susie Oldham, Joann Roberts, Cindy Sturgill, Penny Steele, Dixie Ernst, Darlene Emmons Howell, Steve Emmons, Danny Emmons, and Rick Emmons; a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family, as well as many dear friends.
