Obituary

Sue Elizabeth Robinson Hubbs, 74, of Corbin formerly of Harlan County, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2025, at her residence. She was born on October 20, 1951 to the late Roscoe Robinson and Vittidene Riggs Robinson. Sue carried their values of strength, kindness, and determination throughout her life and shared them generously with everyone she met.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Darryl Robinson; and a special friend, Vern Guffy.

Sue was a 1969 graduate of James A. Cawood High School. She later continued her education at the University of Kentucky, where she proudly earned a degree in Business Accounting.

During her life, Sue was blessed to work in many different careers, each one allowing her to help and connect with others. However, the role that meant the most to her was serving as the Director of Volunteer Services at Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin. This job she spoke of most often and it remained one of the most cherished and fulfilling times in her life. She treasured the people she met there and the meaningful work she was able to do. Sue was also a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Corbin, where her faith was an important and guiding part of her life.

Sue is survived by her two children, Christy Robinson of Whitesburg and Gregory Hubbs of Lexington; as well as one sister, Debra Green of Harlan. Also mourning her passing are her sister-in-law, Tammy Robinson of Loyall; her niece, Bekki Robinson of Loyall; her nephew, Nathan Robinson of Loyall; two special lifelong friends, Barbara Dillion and Linda Middleton, who held a meaningful and cherished place in her heart.

Her family and friends will forever remember her loving spirit, her gentle presence, and the warmth she brought into every room. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2025 in Resthaven Cemetery with Reverend Kevin Roach officiating. Family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.
