Susan Carol Lockhart, 68 of Evarts, departed this life on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital. Born October 25, 1956 to the late Ralph Lockhart and Antha Rogers Lockhart, she had lived in Harlan County most of her life. She was a member of the Brittians Creek Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her dogs and sewing.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Randell Whiteman.

Those left to cherish her memory are her companion, Johnny Hill; her children, Brian (Christy) Whiteman of Sevier County, TN; and Martina (Chris) Owenby of Green County, TN; a sister, Glenda White, Evarts; an aunt, Linda Wilson, Evarts; 11 grandchildren, Brianna Whiteman, Ashley Whiteman, Carmen Whiteman, Thomas Ogle, Blake Ogle, Trey Owenby, Haley Owenby, Nathan Owenby, Eric Owenby, Bryan Owenby, Hannah Owenby; one great-grandchild, Izzy Majors; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends, including a lifetime friend, Cathy Richmond.

Visitation for Susan will be held Monday, April 14, 2025, from 2 until 4pm at the Evarts Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the chapel of Evarts Funeral Home with Pastor John Luttrell officiating.

Burial will be in the Neff Cemetery at Kenvir. Chris Owenby, Nathan Owenby, Eric Owenby, Bryan Owenby, Michael Owenby and Zack Chance will serve as pallbearers.
