Terry Lee Cooper, Sr., 60, of Ages, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023, with his family by his side. He was born on January 18, 1963 to the late Burley and Shirlene Smith Cooper in Pennington Gap, VA. Terry was a retired coal miner and also loved working on cars and doing carpentry work.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Keith Cooper; and one sister Leann Osborne.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Napier Cooper, Ages, two children, Steven Simpson and wife, Danielle, Wallins, and Terry Lee Cooper, Jr, Ages; two brothers, William Cooper and wife, Kim, Jonesville, VA; and Kevin Cooper, Harlan; one sister, Lisa Fathergill, Cumberland; four grandchildren, Jayden Leann Simpson, Keaton Riley Simpson, Stevie Breann Simpson, and Conner Michael Cooper; his mother-in-law, Loretta Middleton, Evarts; a sister-in-law, Rhonda Cooper, Tennessee; and a host nieces, nephews, of other family and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 7, 2023, from 1 until 3 pm at the Evarts Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 3 pm with the Reverend Don Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
