Terry "Scrap" Dewayne Rigney, 61, of Ages departed this life on Saturday, December 23, 2023, following a long illness.  Born June 25, 1962 in Dayton, Ohio, he had lived here most of his life.  He was a graduate of Evarts High School and a former coal miner.  He enjoyed woodworking as a hobby.

Terry is preceded in death by his father, Lonnie "Pete" Rigney, Sr. and a brother, Lonnie Rigney, Jr.

He is survived by his mother, Brenda  Sharp Rigney, Ages; two sons, Michael Rigney and wife, Logan, Harlan; Jessie Rigney and wife, Charity, Evarts; a sister, Jennifer Swedersky and husband, Mike, Pineville; four grandchildren, Jessalyn, Brooklyn and Gracelyn Rigney, all of Evarts; and Carson of Harlan; a niece, Savannah Swedersky, Pineville; two nephews, Michael Shawn and Matthew Swedersky, both of Pineville; and a host of cousins, other extended family and friends.

The visitation will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at the Evarts Funeral Home beginning at 5 pm with funeral services to follow at 7 pm.  Pastor Jesse Kinder and the Reverend Woody Fields will officiate.  He will buried at the Evarts Memorial Gardens.
