Thelma Bush Gross, 97, of Lexington, formerly of Closplint, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the Good Samaritan Hospice Center. She was born in Harlan on January 29, 1929 to the late John Wiley Bush and the late Lula Mae Payne Bush. Thelma enjoyed working in her flower beds, feeding the birds and making beautiful quilts.

In addition to her parents, Thelma is preceded in death by her husband, Lelon Burl Gross; a brother James Clyde Bush; four sisters, Ethel Madden, Eveline "Sunbeam" McFadden, Dorthy Cook and Louise Bullock

Thelma leaves to mourn her passing a nephew, who was more like a son, Michael Bullock (Amanda) of Lexington; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 10 am until 12 noon at the Evarts Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin in the chapel at 12 noon with the Reverend Martin Bledsoe officiating.

Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens with her family and friends serving as pallbearers.
