Thelma Jean Sergent Maas, 80, of Coldiron passed away Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Harlan App. Reg. Hospital. She was born September 24, 1944 in Harlan County. Thelma was a homemaker and believed in the Church of God faith.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Sergent; two brothers, Clayton Fultz and Jerry Fultz; and one sister, Diana Sue Helton.

Thelma is survived by two children, Ponda Scherry Southworth and husband, Kent, Georgetown, KY; and Brian Maas and wife, Amy, Coldiron; seven brothers, Fred Earl Sergent, Baxter; Allen Fultz, Tim Fultz, Randall Fultz, Steve Fultz, Mike Fultz and Jeff Fultz, all of Harlan; and one sister, Sandra Mullins, Rosspoint. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Christopher Noe, Marisa Noe, Tyler Maas and Hailee Ball and husband, Tilar; and two very special friends, Dana Chasteen and Teresa Simpson.

Thelma's visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2025, in the chapel of the Loyall Funeral Home with funeral services starting at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Darrell Turner officiating.
