Twila Sue Callahan Adams, 79, of Lynch departed this life on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the Hazard App. Reg. Hospital.  She was born on June 17, 1946 in Hazard, Kentucky to the late Retha Ewen Callahan and the late Charles Otto Callahan.  Twila was the former Assistant City Clerk for the City of Lynch, a former electrologist at Retha's and a former sales associate at Gerry's in Cumberland.  She enjoyed keeping her mind sharp by playing logic puzzles and word games on her computer.  Twila was very creative and enjoyed sewing and arranging flowers.  She was a member of the Cumberland Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, John W. Adams, Lynch; her son, Jerry Blakley and wife, Tracey, Cumberland; her daughter, Kellie Riley of Lynch; three grandchildren, Lacey Allen and husband, Mark Long; Brayden Blakley and fiance', Alyssa Alred; and Haley Sutherland and husband, Derek; two great-grandchildren, Kayslin Long and Sadie Sutherland; and a sister, Kathy Detzel of Crestview Hills, KY.  Also surviving are her nephews and nieces, Jerome Wilson, Mike Wilson, Sharon "Sissy" Ahl, Daniel Detzel, Sarah Davidson and David Detzel; her dog, Sophie; her cat, Harley; and a host of other family and friends.

Her visitation will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at the Tri City Funeral Home beginning at 12 noon with funeral services to follow at 2 pm. The Reverend Roger Colinger will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Westlawn Cemetery at Cumberland with Daniel and David Detzel, Jerome and Mike Wilson, and Brady and Joshua Farris serving as pallbearers.
