Verda Lee Halcomb, 77, of Cumberland passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard. She was born in Delphia, KY on October 20, 1947, to the late Lester Halcomb Sr. and Clara Shepherd Halcomb. Verda was a Christian and her faith was in God. She was a great cook and loved cooking for her family, she loved to quilt, read books and work word search puzzles.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by a sister, Lavonnia Halcomb; nephews, Jeffery Halcomb, Saylor Dwayne Clark; a niece, Paigetta and her husband, Gregory Stamper; and two brothers-in-law, Jack Franklin and Wayne Clark.

She leaves to mourn her passing her siblings, Lisa Adams and husband, Marty, of Viper; Shelia Clark of Hiram; Geraldine Franklin of Cumberland; Randall Halcomb and wife, Cathy, of Indiana; Lester Halcomb Jr. of Cumberland; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the Tri City Funeral Home from 5 to 8 pm and Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 12 pm until the funeral hour, her funeral service will be at 1 pm with the Reverend Roger Colinger officiating. Interment will follow at the Whispering Pines Cemetery in Delphia, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
