Virginia Pearl Cope, age 93, of Benham, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the Tri-Cities Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Church Hill, TN on May 22, 1932 to the late Henry and Verna Gibbons Walters. Pearl was a true-blue Benham Tiger, she graduated third in her class but could have been first in the class. She was an avid reader and loved her grand-dog, Daisy. She believed in the Methodist faith.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Cope; two brothers, Charlie and Paul Walters; and two sisters, Jean Simpson and Patsy King.

Pearl leaves to mourn her passing her two sons, Reverend Ricky Cope and wife, Sandy, of Benham; Todd Cope of Benham; two brothers, Johnny Walters and wife, Susie, of Indianapolis, IN; Jerry Walters and wife, Betty, of Church Hill, TN; grandchildren, Kevin Cope and wife, Erin, of Richmond; Kristen Lloyd and husband, Tony, of Benham; Ryan Cope of Benham; and Kelsey Cope of Benham; two special grandchildren, Matt Cope and wife, Bekki, of Cumberland; and Elizabeth Cope of Benham; great-grandchildren, Harlyn, Sutton and Blake Cope; Lilly, Logan, Leah and Carter McLain; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

The family would like to extend a thank you to the Tri-Cities Nursing and Rehabilitation Center staff, especially Justin Napier.

Visitation will be Friday, October 24, 2025, at the Tri City Funeral Home beginning at 12 pm until the funeral hour. Her funeral service will be at 3 pm with the Reverend Ricky Cope officiating. Interment will follow at the Benham Cemetery with Todd, Matt, Kevin, and Ryan Cope, Rainbo Johnson and Shelby Fields serving as pallbearers.
