Ms. Virginia Duff Middleton, age seventy-three, of Corbin, KY, formerly of Loyall, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones.

Virginia was born on February 18, 1950, in Harlan County to George and Polly Hubbard Vanover. In 1966, at the tender age of sixteen, Virginia married Oscar Middleton. Many thought their marriage wouldn't last but God blessed them with 57 years and three children they adored.

Virginia worked at Walmart for more than fifteen years. She also worked as a cook in the Harlan city and county school systems for many years. Virginia and Oscar raised their children in Harlan County. They were members of and attended church at Calvary Baptist Church. Virginia currently lived at the Friendship House of Corbin, a senior living community. She thrived on the friendships she made in that community. She grew a little garden in her yard and loved spending time working among her flowers. She was an avid reader, as well, but the thing she loved most was spending time with her family.

Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Middleton; her parents, George and Polly Vanover; all of her siblings: sisters, Georgie, Naomi, Ima Jean, and brother, Mark Duff.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children: George Middleton and wife, Shelly, of Corbin, Kim Middleton of London, John Robert Middleton and wife, Rachel, of Paris; six grandchildren: Joshua, Jacob, Jenny, Jessica, Christopher, Amelia; two great-grandchildren: Bryleigh and John Zachary; special friend, Pete Wacks; her friends and neighbors at the Friendship House; numerous extended family and as well as many dear friends.

A graveside service for Virginia will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 11:00AM, at the outdoor chapel at Resthaven Cemetery, Keith, KY.
