William Bruce "Tom Dooley" Williams, Sr., 68, of Dayhoit went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 30, 2026, at the Harlan App. Reg. Hospital. He was born on September 27, 1957 in Harlan County. Tom Dooley was a retired coal truck driver for many years and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Loyall.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Williams and Ruby Webb Williams; two sons, Jason Williams and Tommy Williams; and three brothers, Lawrence Williams, Jerry Williams and Charles Williams.

William is survived by one son, Shawn Williams and wife, Brittany, Dayhoit; one brother, Terry Williams and wife, Sheila, Coldiron; four sisters, Winniford Williams, Dayhoit; Mary B. Middleton, Dayhoit; Carletta Chappell and husband, Todd, Hyden; and Freda Saylor and husband, Steve, Dayhoit; and a sister-in-law, Brenda Williams, Dayhoit. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, Ethan Williams, Brady Williams, Cody Williams, Zoey Williams, Toby Williams, Khloey Williams, Lily Williams, Emily Helton, Sierra Helton, Kinsley Helton, Mia Short, Piper Short and Charlie Short; a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. April 10, 2026, at the Whitestar Cemetery, Dayhoit.
