Yvonne Miniard, 75, of Big Laurel, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at the Greg and Noreen Well Hospice Care Center in Hazard. She was born November 9, 1948, at the Pine Mountain Settlement School Hospital.

Yvonne loved to travel and she lived her life the way she wanted to live it…carefree and exploring the world every opportunity afforded to her. She loved listening to all genres of music and she loved to dance. She enjoyed gardening and canning and was a great cook, who enjoyed cooking for many.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, Leon Miniard and Leah Ogle Miniard.

She is survived by three children: Patricia Rigney of Providence, KY, and her children, Rachel Rigney, Orlando, FL; and Travis Rigney, Fort Campbell, KY; Chris Stamper and wife, Audrey, Tennessee Ridge, TN; and their children, Morgan and Dalton Stamper and Adrian Burrows; Kenny Barron of Fort Walton Beach, FL, and his children, Kyle, Riley and Joshua Garron.

Also surviving are two great-grandchildren, Nasir Barron and Imani Coleman and one on the way, Lawrence Nathaniel Rigney, due in December; one sister, Elizabeth Miniard of Hiram, GA; and one brother, Rockie Miniard and wife, Felicia, of Knoxville, TN.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 noon Tuesday, November 21, 2023, in the chapel of the Harlan Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 12 noon with the Reverend Nathan Boggs officiating.

A private burial will be held at the Miniard Family Cemetery at Big Laurel at a later date.
