Ms. Zelda Brown Causey, age seventy-three, of Lancaster, Kentucky, formerly of Cumberland, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 6, 2023 at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital in Mt. Vernon, KY.

Zelda is preceded in death by her husband, Riley Causey; her father, John Parker Brown; her mother, Martha Wilmot Brown; a grandson, Jake Causey; and seven siblings: Evelyn, Marsilee, Riley, Ruby, Carmon, Jerry, and Natilla.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Cindy Burke and husband, Gene, of Lexington, Jamie Causey of Lancaster, and Jeff Causey of Lexington; two brothers: Bill (Roxanne) Brown of Indiana and Walt (Diane) Brown of Putney; eight grandchildren: Aaron (Kayla), Mackenzie (Mark), Amanda (Will), Caleb (Kendra), Jonathan (Jaden), Nathan (Morgan), Madison, Andrew; nine great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family; as well as many dear friends.

Visitation for Zelda will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 in the chapel of Tri City Funeral Home from 11:00am – 1:00pm with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 with the Reverednd Lonnie Hill officiating. Zelda will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at the Totz Cemetery. Aaron Causey, Jonathan Burke, Caleb Causey, Nathan Causey, Andrew Causey, and Brandon Pennington will serve as pallbearers.
