Obituary

Allen Dale Jones, born May 2, 1944, in Harlan County, Kentucky, and passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. He was the beloved son of the late Dave and Bertha Jones and was raised in Harlan County, a place that shaped his values, his work ethic, and his love for music and community. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and man of faith.

A gifted woodworker, Allen had the ability to create beautiful things with his hands, always putting care and patience into every piece. Music was another of his great passions. He was a talented musician and singer, playing both the mandolin and guitar with remarkable skill. One of his greatest joys was singing in church, using his God-given talents to worship and uplift others.

Those who knew Allen will remember his deep faith, his love for family, and the way music and worship flowed naturally from his soul. His legacy lives on through the generations he loved so dearly and the faith he lived out every day.

Allen shared 42 loving years of marriage with his wife, Cleta. She was the love of his life, second only to his love for God. His faith was the foundation of who he was, and it brought him great peace knowing that he is now with the Lord he faithfully served.

In addition to his wife, he leaves behind his two daughters, Allison and Monica, and their husbands, David and Frank, whom he loved as his own. Few things brought Allen more joy than his grandchildren, Chase, Trey, Trevor, Hayden, Bryson, and Daria, each of whom held a special place in his heart. He was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Lukas and Emberlee, who filled his life with happiness and pride. He is also survived by his sister, Sandra.

Allen was also dearly loved by his fur grandbaby, Khloe, who brought smiles, comfort, and a special kind of joy to his life. He had a special bond with his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Andrea and Roy, who held a meaningful place in his life and heart. His church family Harlan Outreach Mission and Pastor Sean Daniels. The family would like to send a special thanks to hospice for their wonderful care.
