Debra Ann Lay Abner, age 68, of Totz, KY passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. She was born in Benham, KY on August 7, 1957 to the late Eugene and Anna Stewart Lay. Debbie has lived in Harlan County all of her life, she was a very humble person, willing to help anybody. She loved cooking and was always looking for new recipes to try. She believed in the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her daughter, Candice Abner Brackett; and a brother, Michael Lay.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Randy Abner of Wallins Creek; her son, Chris Abner and wife, Amy, of Leatherwood, KY; two sisters, Cheryl Lay and her long-time companion, Larry Tippett, of Cumberland; Kathy Fox of Putney, KY; two fur-babies, Sammie and Annie; and a host of other family members and friends.

A visitation of family and friends will be Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 12 pm to 2 pm in the chapel of the Tri City Funeral Home.
